Three coins in the fountain.
Thanks to all who have contributed to the cost of gasoline in silver dimes thread. It is a great way to think about the debasement of the currency. It costs as much now as it did in 1967 to buy gas here in Canada in silver coin of the realm. Back then it was 42 cents per imperial gallon. Four quarts which are almost the same as four litres. So, with sivler at its current level it still costs about one silver dime’s worth to get one imperial quart of gasoline.
Understanding this is important. This helps us to understand that it is not the price of gold and silver that is rising. It is the value of the currency that is falling, as it continues to take increased amounts to buy the same things.
And this helps us to understand why the dollar value of gold, silver and other basic things will continue to rise. Monty Guild and Jim Sinclair have explained it. In order to reliquify the system, more inflation will be on the agenda. So higher currency values for these things are needed in order to float the boat.
